How to Heal – Horizon Zero Dawn

Recommended Videos

No matter how careful you are in Horizon Zero Dawn, eventually, Aloy is gonna take some damage from the machines. Of course, one small hit isn’t going to completely take her out, so in most cases, you’ll have a chance to heal yourself before you hit that game over screen. Here are the two different ways you can heal in Horizon Zero Dawn.

First is your medicine pouch. This is automatically assigned to up on your d-pad, and can be filled with different flora and fauna that you see around the world. All you need to do is press Triangle when you see one of these plants to add its restorative powers to your medicine pouch. Then, press up on the d-pad and Horizon Zero Dawn will automatically top up Aloy’s health bar.

The other way to heal in Horizon Zero Dawn is with potions. These can be crafted if you find the right materials, and some enemies you’ll come across in the game also have them. Be sure to loot every enemy that you take down in order to get your hands on these. They’re incredibly handy in boss battles, especially when no healing plants are available for you to add to your medicine pouch. To use potions, hit the left or right button on the dpad until a potion is selected from your item bar, then press down to use it.

That’s all you need to know to heal in Horizon Zero Dawn. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our wiki guide.
