Is Hitman 2 Xbox One X Enhanced?

Agent 47 has finally returned to our screens as he visits another number of locations around the world to creatively assassinate his targets. From Miami and Mumbai to Hawkes Bay in New Zealand, you’ll be creatively taking down targets with stunning backgrounds. As such, some players may be wondering if Hitman 2 is Xbox One X enhanced.

Well, it just so turns out that Hitman 2 is Xbox One X enhanced, and it runs like a dream on Microsoft’s supercharged system. As stated over on the official page on the Xbox website, Hitman 2 runs at an 4K Ultra HD resolution, is HDR compatible, and benefits from other enhancements.

According to Digital Foundry, the game does indeed run at a native 4K resolution on the system. For those Xbox One X owners who don’t have a 4K display, there’s also an option to unlock the framerate, to make for an even smoother experience if that’s what you’re after.

Doing so, however, requires you to dive into the game’s settings menus and options, so we’ve listed out the process for you down below.

How to Prioritize Framerate in Hitman 2 on Xbox One X

  • From the Main Menu, scroll to the right to the Options menu.
  • Select the Graphics Menu from here.
  • Select the Framerate option and toggle it to Unlocked.

Enabling this ‘unlocks’ your framerate from 30fps, giving you the potential to reach up to 60fps. This is a variable framerate, however, so don’t expect Hitman 2 to consistently hit 60fps at all times. You’re likely going to see some dips when things get busier on-screen.

If you keep the Framerate set to ‘locked,’ you’ll have Hitman 2 running at the native 4K resolution, or just at 1080p 30fps if you don’t have a 4K display.

You can check out Digital Foundry’s video linked above for a full breakdown of the technical performance of Hitman 2 on Xbox One X. It’s in-depth and truly shows the impressive level of detail that IO Interactive has managed to achieve with its Glacier 2 engine.

That’s all you need to know regarding whether or not Hitman 2 is Xbox One X enhanced, and how to adjust its framerate option. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite. We’ve also included some handy guides for you down below.
