How to Get Director Mode (PS4, Xbox One) in GTA V

Recommended Videos

Apart from the main campaign, GTA V is filled with all sorts of other different game modes. You have your standard missions, flight school, the adversary mode, survival, time trials, races, deathmatches, and raids, among other things. If you want to take a break from all of the action, however, one particular mode you might want to try is the director mode. While this was once a PC exclusive, PS4 and Xbox One players will now have the chance to play it for themselves. Here’s how to get the director mode in GTA V if you’re playing on consoles.

Since the director mode has already been patched in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA V, you won’t need to download any other extra files. Instead, you will actually find the mode in the game via the menus. All you need to do is bring up the pause menu and shift through the different tabs until you find the “ROCKSTAR EDITOR” on the far right. This should be beside the PlayStation Store/Xbox Live Store tab, so it’s hard to miss.

Open the Rockstar Editor and you’ll see a different menu with seven tabs on the left side of the screen. Scroll down to the third option, which is the director mode for GTA V. You’ll then get a prompt asking if you want to launch it, so just confirm that and the game will automatically bring you over to the director mode. With the GTA V director mode on the PS4 and Xbox One, you can create your own videos by setting up the stage, cast members, props, and other items you may need for your film.
