Blood Rage – God Eater 2: Rage Burst

Blood Rage is a new ability exclusive to God Eater 2: Rage Burst. It’s a 30 second power-up that allows you to deal massive amounts of damage as well as enjoy other perks once activated. Unlike Burst mode, though, it’s much more difficult to trigger, as it relies on choices and skills to make work.

The Blood Rage ability is unlocked naturally by progressing through the story. Once you have it, play through missions as you normally would. When fighting powerful, boss-level Aragami, you’ll start to fill a meter on the bottom, left-hand side of the screen. When this is full, you’ll then be given the option of certain Vows. Each vow offers a specific damage increase as well as other perks, but comes with conditions that must be met beforehand. You have 30 seconds to meet the conditions or else your meter is wasted.

When you enter Blood Rage (by pressing R2/RT), you’ll sprout a yellow chrysalis on your back that is fueled with Oracle Cells (the same stuff that Aragami and your God Arc are made out of), and a song made just for this mode will begin to play. It definitely looks badass, and if you meet all of the conditions you’ll become a temporary force to be reckoned with.

You can also save your Blood Rage between missions. Just because you’ve filled the meter doesn’t mean you have to use it right away. Perhaps you’re waiting for a tougher enemy or something of the sort. You can store up to 400% of the meter (it stacks), and trigger it at another time.

Do keep in mind that while it’s generated by attacking Aragami, the Aragami must be alive. Don’t waste your time beating on corpses.
