Genshin Impact Shadows Amidst Snowstorms: How to Start & Rewards

The newest Genshin Impact event is here, and it’s the flagship event for the 2.3 title update that went live not too long ago. It’ll be live until Dec. 13, so here’s everything you need to know about the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event in Genshin Impact, including how to start it, the rewards, and more.

Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Event Guide

To participate in this event, you’ll need to be Adventure Rank 20 or above, and complete the For a Tomorrow Without Tears Archon Quest, as well as Albedo’s Story Quest.

If you meet all the requirements, you can start the event by heading over to Timaeus’ alchemy store in Mondstadt where you’ll find Albedo and Sucrose waiting to be interrupted by a curious protagonist. After the conversation there, The Snowy Past quest will begin. Finish it up to begin Born of the Snow.

Born of the Snow is a part of the event that allows you to create snowmen using Snowman Components in order to earn rewards.

Completing The Snowy Past will also unlock various Dragonspine Special Training challenges, which are the main attractions for this event, so to speak. The training challenges are essentially obstacle courses, combat arenas, and more that take place in the icy region.

They include Agility Training, which is comprised of four race tracks, Tracker Training, which tasks players with melting Ice Crytal Piles in eight separate challenges, and finally, Combat Training, which has players activate Lures and defeat enemies while surviving in the cold.

Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Rewards

As with almost every other major event in Genshin Impact, this one will reward players with Primogems, character level-up materials, weapon enhancement materials, Mora, and a Talent Crown. In addition to all that though, you’ll also be able to earn the new four-star Cinnabar Spindle sword.

The sword increases DEF as its main stat, and its ability increases Elemental Skill damage by 40% of DEF. This effect can be activated once every 1.5 seconds.
