Fortnite Chapter 2 has finally begun, following the world-ending events that happened over the weekend. On top of the new map though, Epic has revamped how you level up in Chapter 2. So you can level up and unlock new items quickly, here’s everything you need to know about how to get medals and what they do in Fortnite Chapter 2.
How to Get Medals & What They Do in Fortnite Chapter 2
Instead of unlocking battle stars, you complete daily missions and other challenges that reward you with medals. You can unlock up to 10 each day, but you’re able to upgrade them through bronze, silver, and gold as you do better in matches.
To actually unlock them, all you have to do is play and do things like outlast opponents and get eliminations.
You can’t check what you need to do before you play, but you’ll get the bronze survivor medal when you reach the last 50 in a match, and it’ll upgrade as you reach the last 25 and 10.
Then, you’ll also get medals for things like opening chests and getting eliminations, which persuade you to get involved in the action to get more XP and level up.
As you get more medals, you’ll be given varying XP amounts, which are usually 2k or 4k, but you can continue getting medals once you’ve maxed out your list for the day, as you can upgrade them by doing better.
Then, the medals that you earn, which you’ll see icons for from the lobby menu in Fortnite Chapter 2, will reset each day, with the time remaining being visible there too.
Time needed: 1 minute
