How to Skip Cutscenes in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Though it was unfortunately left out as a feature in the FFX/X-2 remasters, the ability to skip cutscenes has thankfully been added into Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. With this new feature, you’ll now be able to skip all of the story cutscenes if you’ve already seen them before, or if you just want to get straight into the gameplay. Here’s how you skip cutscenes.
All you need to do is simply pause the game by pressing the Options button on the DualShock 4. You’ll see a few options in the bottom left corner allowing you to resume the game, return to the title screen, or skip the cutscene in question. All you have to do is press the X button, and you’ll skip whatever cutscene that you’re currently in. The game will then start you off in the next playable section.
Needless to say, we highly recommend against skipping cutscenes if you’re new to the game. Part of the fun of playing through Final Fantasy XII is watching how its story and political drama unfolds, and it’d be a waste to skip all of that plot.
