All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 will be taking players on a journey to brand new planets while also allowing you to explore the crumbling ruins that have been left on earth following the events of the first Destiny game’s campaign. Players will certainly be eager to explore the three brand new worlds especially since Bungie has changed the way you’ll get around in Destiny 2. One of the most welcomed additions to the game is the fact that you will no longer have to go into orbit in order to travel to all planets. As Destiny 2 Director Luke Smith put it, this time around Bungie wants to “remove as many barriers” as possible “between your gun and the enemy’s face.”
So now that those barriers between your gun and the enemy’s face have been removed, you will probably thoroughly enjoy bouncing back and forth between a version of Earth that looks very different from what we saw in Destiny and the three new planets that have been introduced for Destiny 2. So here’s the rundown of all the places you’ll currently be able to explore in Destiny 2. This page will be updated as more information and locations emerge.
European Dead Zone (Earth)
All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
The live action trailer for Destiny 2 made great use of exploding cakes and coffee mugs in order to remind you that Earth isn’t the place it used to be. But just in case that still didn’t drive the message home, the explorable location on Earth is actually called the European Dead Zone. In addition to being a beautifully decrepit landscape in the game, this is also where you will find the new Destiny 2 social space The Farm. It’s also where you will find yourself journeying through the rubble and ruins of The Tower from the first Destiny game.
Nessus
All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
Nessus is Destiny 2’s most mysterious location. This is where Cayde-6 finds himself following the attack on The Last City. Like all landscapes in Destiny, Nessus will house some gorgeous landscapes but the Vex structures found here are promised to be ones shrouded in mystery. At this point, the Vex have completed converted this heavenly object into a Machine World and massive Cabal drills are littered across Nessus’s surface.
Io
All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
Io, which is also referred to as Jupiter I, is actually one of the four major moons of Jupiter in Destiny 2. The Traveler reached Io during the final days of the Golden Age just before the Darkness appeared. Since then the climate on Io has changed drastically and has created an atmosphere that isn’t conducive to traditional agriculture. While the land may not boast a lot of vegetation, Io still has meaningful, beautiful landscapes. A mountain on Io called Echo Mesa has become a popular pilgrimage site for Guardians.
Titan
All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
This is Saturn’s largest moon and, according to one of the legends of the Nine, the home of ancient leviathan intelligences. The Traveler transformed Titan into an ocean moon during the Golden Age but centuries later it would soon be remembered as a battlefield instead. Titan has become a chaotic war zone for House of Dusk, Hive and Guardian forces. Despite this, remnants of a beautiful past are still present here. There are plenty of large structures still standing that are relics of a great Golden Age city of humanity.
The Farm
All Planets and Locations in Destiny 2
The Farm is the primary social space located on Earth. In terms of function, The Farm serves much of the same purpose as Destiny’s Tower. You will be able to meet up with other players and visit the different vendors that are present in this area. The Farm will also give players the chance to relax by playing some quick games of soccer. One of the coolest new features, however, is that The Farm will actually change in appearance as you progress through the campaign. Bungie mentioned that new NPCs and visual changes will be added to The Farm as Destiny 2’s story progresses. This makes sense considering the fact that The Farm is a functional reminder that Guardians are having to rebuild from the ground up.
