Demon’s Souls is a pretty challenging game and if you’re not careful, you could very easily lose a ton of health to regular enemies in the blink of an eye.

Especially early on in the game, when you’re starting off with just half of your max HP bar, you’re going to be in constant danger of getting killed by just one enemy combo. With that in mind, you’re probably gonna wanna know how to heal up.

The good news is that healing and restorative items are fairly easy to come by in Demon’s Souls, and you can carry a lot of them in your inventory –even more than you could in Dark Souls or Bloodborne.

Heal and Restore Health in Demon’s Souls

By equipping grass items on your item bar, you can press the Square button to consume it and restore some of your health. If you have multiple types of grass items in your inventory, you can equip them in your item slots and press down on the d-pad to cycle through them as well.

Here’s a quick list of the grass items and how much HP they’ll restore:

  • Crescent Moon Grass: 120 HP
  • Half Moon Grass: 240 HP
  • Late Moon Grass: 400 HP
  • Full Moon Grass: 600 HP
  • New Moon Grass: Full restore
  • Dark Moon Grass: Full restore and cures all ailments

Aside from the grass items, it’s also possible to heal up by using healing miracles.

To use miracles, you’ll need to equip a talisman to your left or right hand, have the the appropriate miracle equipped by pressing up on the d-pad, then press the L1 or R1 button to use it, depending on which hand you have the talisman equipped.

Miracles and spells will use up your blue focus bar, though, so you do still have to be careful with how often you use them.

That’s all you need to know about how to heal and restore health in Demon’s Souls. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
