How to Get the Cling Ring in Demon’s Souls

Like in the original game, you can get the Cling Ring in Demon’s Souls on PlayStation 5 by accessing a hidden portion of the first area, the Boletarian Palace.

From the ramp leading up the side of a tower wall, continue forward until you come to a Blue-Eyed Knight guarding a fog door. Deal with the Blue-Eyed Knight, and then instead of going through the fog door, head to a doorway to your right with some stone steps leading up to it. We’ve included a photo down below for your reference.

Through the doorway, you’ll find a spiral staircase leading down with quite a few enemies on it. Defeat the enemies and make your way down the staircase. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll find a shortcut containing a corpse with a shiny blocked off by a gate. You can open the gate with a nearby lever.

Pull the lever, and then head inside. Examine the corpse for its shiny, and you’ll obtain the Cling Ring.

What the Cling Ring Does

As for what the Cling Ring does in Demon’s Souls, it’s almost integral to your success throughout the rest of the game.

While the ring is equipped, you’ll retain 75 percent of your health while playing as a phantom post-death instead of the usual 50 percent. Though this may not seem like a lot, it can mean the difference between surviving a deadly blow from an enemy or going down immediately, giving you a fighting chance against foes when you’re trying to reclaim your souls or make progress.
