It may not seem like the most important aspect of the game, but if you’re like the majority of Demon’s Souls players, you care about how your character looks. The only problem is, you don’t know how to change up their clothing and give them a look that’s to your liking. That’s why we’re here to help with a guide on how to change clothes and get more outfits in Demon’s Souls.
How to Change Clothes and Get More Outfits in Demon’s Souls
Like in most every other Souls game, changing clothes and getting more outfits in Demon’s Souls comes down to finding and equipping new pieces of armor you find.
New clothes and outfits can be found most everywhere you look in the game. Certain enemies drop pieces of the armor they’re wearing; merchants sell armor sets for certain sums of Souls; and fallen warriors have their armor sets waiting for you to claim as shine spots.
All of these can be equipped to your character, and will change their cosmetic appearance in addition to altering how they’re protected from certain attacks.
Doing so is an easy process too. Once you have some gear you want your character to wear, all you need to do is open up the main menu with the Options button, scroll over to the equipment tab and select it. From there, you’ll be able to pick whether you want your character to swap out their currently equipped headwear, body armor, gauntlets, or boots with gear you’ve obtained from enemies, merchants, or fallen warriors.
Are There Gender-Restricted Armor Pieces and Clothing?
The only real restriction on what clothes and outfits you can wear in Demon’s Souls are a few gender-restricted pieces of gear.
These include things like dresses obtained from female characters, and can only be worn by characters of the same gender as the enemy that was wearing them. It’s a bit of a bummer, but in the grand scheme of things, these outfits make up only a small fraction of all the outfits in the game.
That’s all there is to know about how to change clothes and get more outfits in Demon’s Souls. For more on the game, check out some of our other guides on topics like how to sprint and how to dodge roll.
