Ever since CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a first-person only experience, members of the fan base have been clamoring for a way to do the complete opposite. They wanted to see their version of V exploring Night City from a third-person view instead. While the developer never did give fans what they were after, sarunama, a member of the modding community has taken it upon themselves, bringing the first Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how to get Cyberpunk 2077’s third-person mod, and how to activate it once you’re in-game.
How to Get Cyberpunk 2077 3rd Person Mod
First off, you’ll need to download two mods from Nexus Mods. These are:
You’ll want to install the Cyber Engine Tweaks mod first, followed by JB – TPP Mod WIP Third Person. This is because the third-person mod itself relies on some of the adjustments made in Cyber Engine Tweaks to work properly.
Installing Cyber Engine Tweaks & JB – TPP Third Person Mod
First download the zip file for Cyber Engine Tweaks.
Next, cut it from the download location and paste the zip folder into the \bin\x64 folder within your Cyberpunk 2077 install path. Now unzip it and you should see ‘Cyberpunk 2077.exe’ and ‘version.dll’ in this directory. As long as you see this, you ‘ve installed the mod correctly.
Now simply launch the game and load up your save and as long as your save loads fine, you’ve completed stage one of the process. Alternatively, you can use the ‘<cyberpunk install path>/bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks/cyber_engine_tweaks.log
‘ file to check that everything works before proceeding.
The next step is to install the JB – TPP WIP Third Person mod itself. To do this, download the zip file from Nexus Mods via the download link provided above, and then paste them into the same ‘Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64’ file path that we put Cyber Engine Tweaks into before.
With that done, simply load up Cyberpunk 2077 and wait for your game save to load.
How to Use Cyberpunk 2077 Third-Person Mod
With both mods installed and your save loaded up, simply press B on your keyboard to change to a third-person view. There are four third-person camera angles available to you, and you can cycle through them by pressing B.
Alas, we have to give you console players some bad news. Only those playing the game on PC can make use of this third-person mod. That’s because the console versions of the game do not have mod support, so unless CD Projekt Red opt to officially add this camera angle, you’ll be stuck seeing Night City through the eyes of V.
That’s everything you need to know on how to get and use Cyberpunk 2077’s third-person mod. For more tips, tricks, and guides, head on over to our guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our coverage below.
