Diablo Immortal is finally available on mobile devices, and is also slated for a PC release on June 2. However, if you have a Steam Deck and you’re hoping to enjoy the game on that handheld device instead, you’re in luck. With a little bit of fiddling on the device, you’ll be able to play Diablo Immortal on the Steam Deck. Here’s what you need to know.
Playing Diablo Immortal on Steam Deck via Battle.net Launcher
- Turn on the Steam Deck and select Steam, then choose the option that says Switch to Desktop.
- Launch your web browser and head to Battle.net, then install the launcher from there.
- Head back to the Steam application, click the Games option, and choose the option that says Add Installer as Non-Steam Game.
- Go to the Downloads folder in the Steam Deck and locate the Battle.net .exe file.
Do note that you may have to play around with the filters and get it to display all files in the Downloads folder.
- Select the Battle.net .exe file and add it to your programs.
- Right-click the installer and click on Properties.
Under the Compatibility tab, check the option that says “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool”.
- Once installed, head back to the Steam app and locate the Battle.net launcher under the Non-Steam tab, and launch it.
- Download Diablo: Immortal via the Battle.net launcher and you’re good to go.
Once Diablo: Immortal goes live on Battle.net, you’ll be able to install the game normally and enjoy it on your Steam Deck. It’s also possible to play the game via an emulator like Bluestacks; just head over to the Bluestacks website and download the installer, and follow the same installation process detailed above. You can then download Diablo: Immortal from the Google Play Store and run it through the emulator, and even enjoy cross-play between PC and mobile devices.
That said, with the PC client going live in just a day, it’s probably better to just wait for the Battle.net version.
That’s all you need to know about playing Diablo: Immortal on the Steam Deck. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
