How to Get the Cheap Tips Legendary SMG in Moxxi’s Heist

The Cheap Tips comes at the best time in the DLC, as it is dropped by Jackbot, the DLC’s final boss at the end of the All Bets Off main quest. While the fight itself it a bit tough with multiple stages, the Cheap Tips you have a chance of earning is worth it.

In this instance, which is somewhat rare, the item card text for the Cheap Tips lays out its main ability, which is that when damaging an enemy, casino chips may drop from then and give a 12 second damage boost.

The “may” in that is a little misleading, as shooting any enemy causes a fountain of chips to spill out of then. These are then picked up just like shield boosters. Thankfully for the patch that made said shield boosters an auto pick-up, this applies to the chips as well, so you only need to run over them and start dealing out your boosted damage.

Other than that, the Cheap Tips feels like any other Hyperion SMG. This one does radiation damage, which is nice, especially when coupled with any of Moze’s other elemental attacks.

  1. Playthrough the DLC to the All Best Off mission.

  2. Beat final boss Jackbot.

  3. If he doesn’t drop the Cheap Tips, farm him, the respawn is very close.
