First things first, it’s worth noting that you’re going to need to actually download this new expansion before you’ll have access to it in Borderlands 2. To do this, you’ll want to follow the steps we’ve outlined for each platform below. It’s also worth noting at this point that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is available on PS Plus for the month of June, and Xbox Game Pass, too.

PS4

  • Head to the PlayStation Store
  • Search for ‘Borderlands 2’
  • Select the ‘Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary’ DLC option that appears.
  • Press ‘Download’

Steam

  • Head to the ‘Store‘ page
  • Search for ‘Borderlands 2’
  • Select ‘Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary’
  • Hit the ‘Download’ button and wait for the DLC to install.

Xbox One

  • Head to the Xbox Store
  • Search for ‘Borderlands 2’
  • Select the ‘Commander Lilith’ DLC
  • Hit the ‘Download’ button and wait for the DLC to install.

How to Start Borderlands 2’s Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC

Now that you’ve got the DLC downloaded, it’s simply a case of loading up Borderlands 2 (or the Handsome Collection) and loading up your save or starting anew if you’ve not played the game before.

After you’ve cleared a few tutorials, or are simply able to access a fast travel station, head to one of these and choose the ‘Fight for Sanctuary’ location now listed.

This can be accessed from any fast travel station in the game, so don’t worry about having to trek anywhere too far, regardless of how far you’ve progressed in Borderlands 2 up until that point.

What is worth noting, however, is that Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary does require you to be at least level 30. If you’ve never played Borderlands 2 before and are just hopping in to check out what the game’s new DLC is all about, you can choose to create a new character from the main menu screen that’ll immediately be level 30.

Then, it’s simply a case of walking through the large doors you’re dropped in front of when traveling to the Fight for Sanctuary location and you’ll be ready to see what’s new. It’s worth noting, however, that the new DLC does follow-on from where Borderlands 2’s story ended. That means there will be a few spoilers lying in wait, in case you’re bothered about that.

That’s pretty much everything you need to know regarding how to start Borderlands 2’s Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
