Wardrobes Overhaul Project
If there’s one major flaw in Skyrim, it’s the fashion system. Everyone’s usually wearing the same clothes, which would normally be perfectly fine if the clothes looked actually decent. Half of the NPCs are dolled up in rags, so let’s do something about it with this mod.
The Wardrobes Overhaul Project aims to improve three things in Skyrim: fashion, style, and trends. NPCs will dress differently while still remaining extremely lore-friendly, so don’t expect villagers to be trotting around in jeans. That said, expect more variety when it comes to clothes in the game.
While outfits don’t particularly add anything substantial, NPCs play a big part in immersion. And what better way to immerse yourself than with better fashion?

Hearthfire Children Grow Up
The Dragonborn can’t have kids of their own, but players are always welcome to adopt orphans. The Hearthfire Orphanage is home to a number of different children looking for a home, and you can take up to two to live with you.
While these kids won’t normally grow up in the vanilla version of Skyrim, you can use this mod to add in an aging process. The orphans will start out as children before becoming teenagers at 13 levels in. If you want them to become an adult, simply tell talk to them and tell them to follow their dreams.
You can even train your children to become a mage, warrior, or a thief when they grow up. This aging system takes a more realistic approach when adopting kids, and it’s always sad to see them leave the house and finally become their own person.

Magic Lights Overhaul
Skyrim mages have access to a wide variety of spells, with some that are meant for combat while others are better for navigation. When you’re exploring dark tunnels, you’ll always want to have a light with you during these times. Both Candlelight and Magelight are great options, but they often fall flat due to bad lighting and awkward positioning.
Luckily, this Skyrim mod smoothes things out by overhauling these two spells. Here’s everything the mod adds to the game:
- The intensity of the light has been decreased from 2.5 to 1.0
- The blinding mist around a projectile is greatly decreased and almost not noticeable.
- Meshes and lights had been recolored from cold blue to warm orange.
- Base duration was increased from 60 to 90 seconds.
- The light radius has been doubled

Pick Your Poison
Alchemy is tricky in Skyrim, especially if you’re new to the game. There are tons of different creations you can brew from all sorts of ingredients scattered throughout the open world. If you’re a budding alchemist who wants a little cheat sheet, you can use this mod.
Pick Your Poison grants you wondrous books that are packed with details on ingredients you’ll need for certain alchemic effects. On top of that, the book will even tell you where you can scrounge up the items for your brew.
There are a total of 13 different volumes to look through, with the first seven books telling you about the alchemic effects and the ingredients you’ll need. Meanwhile, the latter half of the books tell you where you to find each component. Overall, this mod is perfect for even the most seasoned alchemy veterans.

Undetected While Sneaking
Sneaking around enemy camps is probably the best way to avoid combat. As you continue to improve your Sneak skill, the harder it’ll be for your enemies to detect you. The most seasoned Dragonborn can make their way through dungeons without having to fight a single enemy.
If you personally don’t want to go through the effort of raising your sneak level (which involves getting caught plenty of times), this mod automatically cloaks you when you’re sneaking. It doesn’t affect your sneak level, but you’ll be practically invisible when you’re walking around crouching.
