Attack on Titan: How to Recruit Soldiers

Recruit Soldiers – Attack on Titan

Recommended Videos

Combat in Attack on Titan is a daunting endeavor on its own. Having to take out these giant entities with nothing more than your swords and some dangerous gear is scary. Thankfully, you don’t have to do it alone. You can recruit soldiers on the field to fight alongside you, making even the largest Titans much more manageable.

To recruit a soldier simply walk up them on the field and press Circle/B to interact with them. You can only bring four soldiers with you, so if you already have four and you attempt to add another, a small menu will pop up linking each of your companions to a direction on your d-pad. Simply select the soldier you want to replace by pressing their corresponding button.

Another way to add soldiers to your team is to complete Side Missions. These appear as green exclamation points on your map and involve you helping another character in one way or another. Completion often leads to that specific character, who is usually better than the generic soldiers around, joining your ranks.

Do keep in mind that not every soldier can be recruited. If you look at a soldier and see a letter ranking next to their image, then they can be added to your team. The letter rankings represent their level of skill on a scale of C-S with C being the lowest and S being the best.
