What Malaka Is in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Throughout their journey in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players will hear a number of Greek words they might not be familiar with. Some of these words will be slang and some will be standard Greek. One of most commonly used words in the game is Malaka. From the context that it’s used in, it won’t be hard to understand the intent behind it. The actual definition will be hard to gleam from its use, though. That’s okay because we have you covered. Here’s what Malaka is in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The first time players hear the word Malaka in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is when Alexios or Kassandra first hear about what Markos, a close friend of sorts, has done. We won’t spoil what he’s done, but when Kassandra or Alexios use Malaka, it’s clear what they are saying. In short, it is a curse.

Directly, from Greek to English, Malaka translates to asshole, but it can be used more generally for anything that warrants a curse. While it directly translates to asshole, in Greek slang, it means a number of things: stupid, idiot, without common sense, jerk, and dumbass. There’s plenty more words it represents but you get the gist of it. If someone says Malaka in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it isn’t good.

What is good, though, is the way it just rolls off the tongue. Say it to yourself. Feels and sounds great, right? Maybe you live a life that doesn’t warrant a word like Malaka too often, but I know personally, it is a new favorite.

You can hear Alexios and Kassandra use the word Malaka in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey today. It’s out now and available for purchase on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

That’s it for what Malaka in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey means. For more information about the game, be sure to check out our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey wiki for tips, tricks, walkthrough and more.
