How to Cook Meat in ARK Survival Evolved

Recommended Videos

ARK Survival Evolved really ups the survival ante. You’re going to need to keep track of a lot of different needs that your character will have. They’ll get cold, thirsty, and hungry. If you’re in desperate need of food, berries are good but won’t last you long. You’re going to need to cook yourself some meat! Here’s how to do this.

First and foremost, you’ll get meat from dinosaurs or bodies. You hack at the bodies with your axe to harvest them and you’ll get some raw consumables. This will make you sick, though, so you need to cook it.

Craft and place a campfire if you don’t already have one. Once you do, place fuel within its inventory (this can be thatch or wood to start) and activate the fire using E, Triangle, or Y depending on what you’re playing on.

Once that’s all settled and you have a fire going, you can get to cooking! Place the Raw Meat you have within the inventory of the campfire and in time you’ll have some cooked steaks. This is what you can eat to not get sick. Of course, raw meat has its benefits too. You can tame dinosaurs with it, for example. But it’s just no good for you until you heat it up into a dish.

That’s all there is to cooking meat in ARK Survival Evolved! If you need more help, let us know down below. Use our search bar on the top right of the site if you’d rather find an answer for yourself, too.
