Getting All Pumpkin Colors in Animal Crossing New Horizons

First things first, before you can start hunting for the different pumpkin colors, you’ll need to buy some starters first. From Oct. 1, you can purchase pumpkin starters from Nook’s Cranny for 280 Bells each. However, if Leif shows up at your island, you can purchase them at a 50% discount, for 140 Bells each.

After that, you just have to plant them on a patch of grass or soil like any other flower or shrub.

You don’t have to water them to get them to sprout, but if you do water them daily, you increase the chances of getting more pumpkins by the third or fourth day when they do sprout. As for the pumpkin colors, that’s totally random and up to RNG.

There are a total of four pumpkin colors: orange, yellow, white, and green. Your best bet is to just plant a ton of starters at the beginning of October, water them daily, and rinse and repeat until you get all of the colors.

Orange pumpkins are the most commonly used in the new DIY Recipes, but you’ll need all of the colors for certain Recipes and for furniture customization as well.

Pumpkins will continue to sprout even after you’ve harvested them, so you don’t have to worry about buying more of them after the three day period.
