All Modern Warfare 2 Safe Codes

Unlock the safes in MW2 to gain valuable items and earn an achievement.

A few missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 feature three safes that can provide you with weapons and the Gentleman Thief trophy/achievement. But, if you don’t know how to unlock these items, we’ll show you all Modern Warfare 2 safe codes and their locations to help you get a better understanding of this complex task.

All Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Safe Codes

The only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 missions that include the safes are the El Sin Nombre and Alone storylines, so try to keep that in mind when these tasks begin. Once players reach these locations, they can input these safe codes:

  • El Sin Nombre mission (Diego’s bedroom): 02-02-19
  • Alone mission (Coffee Shop): 10-10-80
  • Alone mission (El Maistro Mechanics): 37-60-80

You may run into some difficulty with the surrounding enemies in the area, and you can either choose to get rid of them or avoid them entirely. Furthermore, these safes won’t be in plain sight and are often hidden in an entrapped location. Therefore, we’ll show you where to find these safes and what types of items are inside.

El Sin Nombre Safe Location

In the El Sin Nombre mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players will go up to the second floor of a house after Valeria has interrogated them. During this time, you’ll have the chance to go to Diego’s bedroom, which will be next to the elevator that needs a keycard (you’ll see a long hallway):

Then, players must find a closet near Diego’s bed and open the sliding doors to reveal the safe:

When you open the safe, you’ll be rewarded with a Plate Carrier and a Lockwood 300, which are extremely useful since this mission doesn’t give you weapons initially.

Alone Mission Safe Location – Coffee Shop

The safes in the Alone mission might be a bit tricky to get because a ton of enemies will be looking for Soap, who doesn’t have any weapons on hand and has been recently injured. To top it off, this area will undoubtedly feel like a maze, primarily because you won’t be able to see clearly at night.

If you aren’t sure where the coffee shop is in this Modern Warfare 2 mission, you can wait until Soap says something about being in a “coffee shop” (this will be on the way to the designated location.) Eventually, players can open a white door to claim a Throwing Knife and a .50 GS from the safe:

After you’ve unlocked the second safe, it won’t be long until you’ve found the last one at El Maistro Mechanics. All you need to do is go to the first floor of the building with the coffee shop, then turn left to locate a blue door. There will be multiple entryways to get inside this area, but players may need to take out a few enemies before going inside.

Once you enter the garage in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you should see a room with a light on the left side of this building, as shown here:

Lastly, players can unlock the final safe to gain a Crossbow and Throwing Knife to obtain the Gentleman Thief achievement/trophy.
