Xur, Destiny’s shady black market dealer, sells powerful exotic weapon and armor every weekend. While Guardians normally flock to Xur for his weapons and armor, this week he has a curios that many have been waiting a long time for. Xur is finally selling heavy ammo synthesis!
Purchasing just one heavy ammo synthesis from the Gunsmith will cost you nearly 1k glimmer. However Xur sells five heavy ammo synthesis at a time for just one measly strange coin. In other words, one max weekly strike which nets you nine strange coins can be turned in for 36 heavy ammo synthesis! Definitely take advantage of this rare opportunity and stock up because Xur hasn’t had this deal in a while now and who knows when it will turn up again.
Speaking of Xur, this weekend he is hanging out in the lower middle area near the crucible vendors. Besides the heavy ammo synthesis, he is offering up a chest piece (Crest of Alpha Lupi) for Titans, a leg armor (Radiant Dance Machines) for Hunters and a chest piece (Voidfang Vestments) for Warlocks. The Crest of Alpha Lupi is perfect for team players, allowing you to revive faster and generate more orbs. The Radiant Dance Machines are great for those that want to aim down their sights while not sacrificing their walking speed. Voidfang Vestments for Warlocks will improve the Axion Bolt grenades. Xur is also selling the infamous primary sniper rifle, No Land Beyond. No Land Beyond has a nasty reputation as being one of the most difficult to use and disappointing exotics in the game. He also has an exotic chest engram for 23 motes of light.
If you’re looking for strange coins, they can commonly be found by completing the weekly heroic and nightfall strikes along with completing a daily public event and turning in blue engrams. Also, Xur has a multitude of exotic weapon and armor upgrades that can be purchased for one exotic shard and around 7500 glimmer, provided you have the original non-upgraded version.
