[UPDATE: According to a press release, North America will be getting the same Collector’s Editions as Europe and will see its release on 19th August.]

The latest released title in the popular Tales of series, Tales of Xillia 2, has been announced to have two different collector’s editions for this year’s western release in Europe. The EU PlayStation Blog has revealed details on what these editions will include.

The Ludger Kresnik Collector’s Edition will come with an artbook, and the soundtrack “featuring a selection of songs picked by the development team”. That’s unfortunate for fans who might’ve been looking forward to having the whole soundtrack available for their listening pleasure. Not only that, it also includes a Rollo steelbook to store your game in, as well as collectibles such as a Ludger figurine, a pocket mirror, and a replica of the pocket watch featured in the game.

The blog entry states that this edition of the game is “very limited” and compensates for this with the (less desirable) Day 1 Edition. This edition contains the game’s sample soundtrack and a Tales of Xillia 2 metal case “unique to Europe and Australia”.

Tales of Xillia 2 will be available exclusively for the PS3 on 22nd August for Europe. There is no confirmed release date for North America yet, though I’d imagine the dates will be pretty close.
