Remember That One Time a Dad Put a Gaming Hit Out on His Son?

Is it bad that this is still hilarious over two years later?
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

No, seriously, this is actually a thing that happened.

As children, we’ve all had that moment (or 10) where we’re gaming and our parents tell us to stop. Usually, we responded with “in a second, mooooooooooom” or “fiiiiiine”. That, or we pretend we didn’t hear them and continue playing. It’s a bit of an unfair system, but it works. At the very least, you just can’t play for a few days or so. That’s a small price to pay, and it’s better than one of your parents hiring a hitman to just find and murder you while you play.

Fed up with the constant gaming his 23-year-old son Xiao Feng was doing instead of getting a job, Mr. Feng decided to be mature about all this. If, in this case, mature meant “pay some players in Xiao Feng’s favorite game to hunt down and kill him at every chance they got”. It’s never really gone into how Feng the Elder found these players, but they were higher level and had way better equipment than his kid did. The intention was that being murdered every ten steps would eventually get Xiao Feng to give up gaming altogether and put more effort into getting a job. Apparently, neither of them have ever heard of Dark Souls.

Xiao Feng eventually caught onto his dad’s plans, and decided to confront him face to face, saying: “I can play or I can not play, it doesn’t bother me. I’m not looking for any job—I want to take some time to find one that suits me.” It’s currently unknown if Xiao Feng has found a job, but hopefully his dad called off the gaming assassins. If he didn’t, then those assassins are really dedicated.
