It was announced earlier this year at E3 that the Xbox One would be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games by November of this year. The service has already started to be tested amongst a lucky few and this is certainly great news for Xbox gamers.
We look forward to replaying some of our favorite games from the 360 era and this will certainly help Microsoft fend off the competition from Sony’s PlayStation 4. The fact that 360 games will soon be backwards compatible with the Xbox One has got some Xbox gamers wondering if it might also be possible for Microsoft to eventually make original Xbox games compatible with the Xbox One.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if this could be a possibility, Xbox Head Phil Spencer responded that it is indeed something he has been asking the people behind the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility project.
@HadleeSimons I don't think it's silly. I ask the BC team this question a lot. Need to finish 360 BC for now.

The original Xbox had a lot of very popular games including Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Fable. Allowing Xbox gamers to revisit these old games would certainly bean excellent move for Microsoft. Given Phil Spencer’s response to this subject, it seems possible we may eventually see this feature added.
