Koei Tecmo‘s upcoming Attack on Titan action title, exclusive for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, was unveiled at Sony Computer Entertainment Asia’s press conference.

The game was announced in August at Gamescom. It is being developed by Omega Force, the team recognized for the Dynasty Warriors series. This is the first Attack on Titan game since Humanity in Chains was released in Japan for the 3DS in late 2013 and later in Europe and North America this past summer. Accompanied by an upcoming release of a mobile social game, Howl Towards FreedomAttack on Titan is poised to make a giant, interactive splash.

The footage from the trailer looks gorgeous, gory, and unfeigned to the visuals of the anime. However, there’s no definitive evidence if everything shown in the trailer is real gameplay footage. What is there resembles Dynasty Warriors, with familiar environments taken from the anime. The fast-paced action shows Eren Yeager fighting a titan gracefully with his Vertical Maneuvering Equipment. In the footage, Eren slashes at the napes as he protects what appears to be the town of Shinganshina during the breaching of Wall Maria, as depicted in the first episode of the show.

The release for Attack on Titan is set for this winter in Japan, with North America and Europe to see their share sometime next year.

Are you excited for the new Attack on Titan game? Will this hold you over until season 2 of the anime? Let us know in the comments!
