We’ve all been there. One day you wake up and decide to trade in that stack of games you never play. Maybe you want to put the credit towards a new game or something you just miss playing. Maybe you’re even hankering to get a little cash in hand to pay for a six-pack of generic beer. Well this kid should put whatever cash he gets back for a copy of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion into a course in Graphic Designed because you simply can’t deny, the young one’s got skill.Â
Spotted on Reddit, user Cloudywoudy claims that his roommate works for the US games retail giant Gamestop. During a normal workday staff at such stores can expect to trade in more games than most of us mere mortals could ever hope to own in a lifetime. Imagine their surprise when, out of the blue, the box pictured above lands in their lap.
Designed by someone who thought it was necessary to have a case to trade games in, the tagline “Magic & Shit” emblazoned on the front cover of “Oblivion” is enough to get anyone’s ears pricked up. The whole cover appears to have been drawn on an A4 piece of paper slipped into a plain, black DVD case.
The true gold of this find is displayed on the back of the case. Where with most Oblivion cases you’ll find a few lovely pictures on the rear and a short description of the game itself, this kid beautifully sums up the experience in two sentences that could be lifted from any Shakespearean play. Don’t believe it? Well see for yourself below.
If you shy away from the fact that the character on the image’s left hand side looks a little too reminiscent of Dark Souls‘ Solaire of Astora, this gem is simply one of those things that makes the world of video games a joy to behold.
Do you think this copy of Oblivion should become a collectors item? Complete poppycock? Let us know in the comments down below.
