Will it get an English release? No? Okay.

Square Enix has announced yet another Dragon Quest port for Japan that will likely never see a stateside release. This time, we have Dragon Quest VIII which was originally released for the PS2 back in 2004. It was also released on iOS and Android devices in 2013. The game will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on August 27.

Dragon Quest VIII for the 3DS will be priced at 5,980 yen, available at retail and as a digital download. The 3DS version of the game will also include a new in-game scenario, as well as two new party members Red and Morrie. There will be voiced events, as well as an orchestral soundtrack.

It sounds pretty neat. Too bad it probably won’t get a western release. Dragon Quest VIII is set to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on August 27 in Japan. You can check out the game’s official site here.
