Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Heroes Has New Screenshots

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Normally, I would make fun of the word-salad nature of a Japanese game’s title here, but Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Heroes actually sounds plausible and has an exceedingly cool premise and rather nifty new screenshots, just released today by publisher NIS America.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Heroes, a visual novel from developer Spike Chunsoft, is actually a revised, PS Vita edition of just plain old Danganronpa, released in 2010 for PSP in Japan. It follows Makoto Naegi, a perfectly average Japanese teenager who finds himself mysteriously accepted to Japan’s most prestigious school, the Hope’s Peak Academy. This would all be well and good if not for when he arrives, the school is locked down, and put under the control of a mysterious, murderous little bear named Monokuma. Monokuma offers a deadly bargain; your freedom for the killing of another student…and getting away with it.

What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good premise, no matter how many times it has been done. You can see all the screenshots below.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Heroes doesn’t have a set release date other than early 2014 at this time.
