Batgirl
With July came Batman: Arkham Knight’s  Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC. While the DLC itself received mixed reviews, not many can contest that the pre Joker paralyzation Barbara Gray is not only a force to be reckoned with, but also shows off the curviest bat-suit in Bruce Wayne’s fall line.
While she’s absolutely awesome as Oracle, it’s no surprise that fans were excited about the chance to fight as Batgirl alongside her romantic counterpart, Robin, also known as Tim Drake. Hands at her hips, the cosplayer above stands proud and vigilant with the stern conviction of a woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her city and the ones she holds dear.
Batman
Of course, there couldn’t be a Batman: Arkham Knight without the celebrated hero himself: Batman. At first glance, the image above almost appears to come straight out of a comic book. But that’s just a combination of photographic lighting ingenuity and cosplay creative genius.
Perhaps the color of the costume above is not the exact shade of Bruce Wayne’s costume in Batman: Arkham Knight, but minor differences forgiven, this is an astounding imitation. One of this cosplay’s most notable features is the metallic look to the re-enforced armor which allows Batman to deflect bullets off his body in-game at significantly reduced damage. Here, Batman stands menacing and ready to break the bones of those who dare lift their hands against Gotham’s innocents.
Catwoman
While Catwoman’s influence in Batman: Arkham Knight due to her unfortunate capturing by the Riddler, she is still an awesome addition to the game. Side by side, Catwoman and Batman battle Riddler’s evil robotic henchman minions. All the while, Catwoman remains true to her notorious flair and attitude while showing off her elegant style with acrobatic combat moves.
Above, this expert cosplayer has captured the essence of Catwoman with her detailed costume and fearsome pose. Her head is cocked to the side in a way that says “don’t mess with me,” as her left hand is outstretched in a way that says, “or I’ll tear you to pieces with my claws.”
Deathstroke
While Deathstroke wasn’t one of the most influential characters in Batman: Arkham Knight, he was still invited to the party and we were happy that he was able to join us. According to the DC Wikia, Deathstroke is, “is the world’s greatest assassin/mercenary… Originally a soldier in the U.S. Army, he was part of an experimental super-soldier project where he gained enhanced strength, agility and intelligence.”
Given Deathstroke’s background, many fans were disappointed when Batman: Arkham Knight decided to confine this deadly physical combat specialist into a tank vs. tank boss battle. But All of that aside, this cosplayer is exactly what fans expect to see when they think of Deathstroke. Brandishing two swords and more than enough skills to back them up, Deathstroke is a deadly opponent.
Harley Quinn
Undisputedly, the star of Batman: Arkham Knight‘s Harley Quinn DLC was none other than the famous female jester herself, Harley Quinn. While the DLC itself was criticized by many fans for being too brief and lacking enough depth to truly immerse oneself into the experience, the character of Harley Quinn is still a fan favorite. Of course, Harley Quinn is famous for being the Joker’s romantic counterpart and partner in crime, but that doesn’t mean she’s a sidekick to be underestimated.
Although Harley Quinn performs the role of the flirtatious ditz, we must not forget that underneath the makeup, she is still Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. Above, this cosplayer perfectly replicates Harley Quinn’s costume as well as the dangerously playful look in her eyes that masks the complex and intelligent mind of the badass Dr. Quinzel.
The Joker
Without giving away any major spoilers, most fans have come to realize that between all of the Batman: Arkham Knight DLCs, hallucinations, and flashback scenes, the Joker makes an appearance within the game. The most famous Joker performance of all-time is probably that of Batman: The Dark Knight’s Heath Ledger, whose Joker character journal was recently revealed in a documentary.
While Ledger’s rendition of the Joker is an undeniably hard act to follow, the cosplayer above has done a fascinating job of re-creating the iconic Joker costume. The clothes are great but what’s most impressive is the look on this man’s face. Beneath his perfectly combed hair, this man bears the Joker’s characteristic dark smile and menacing eyes with violent intentions.
Nightwing
Here we have Bludhaven’s most valuable asset: Nightwing. If the position of Batman’s side-kick Robin is an elaborate form of an internship, then stepping into your own costume and city is totally landing the job. In doing this, he became an ally that Batman could potentially see not as an underling, but as an equal.
Nightwing’s presence in Batman: Arkham Knight is limited to a Most Wanted side-missions series in which he and Batman take down the Penguin and his henchmen. But for the short time you get to play with Nightwing, it’s a whole lot of fun. Above, this cosplayer expertly imitates the costume, remembering of course to equip himself with Nightwing’s signature night sticks.
The Penguin
Speaking of Penguin, although he didn’t have a big role in the Batman: Arkham Knight video game, that doesn’t mean he should be forgotten. Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, is one of Gotham’s most wealthy and influential villains. When the Scarecrow takes over Gotham with his fear toxins, the Penguin sees it as the perfect opportunity to step up his weapons smuggling game, giving Batman and Nightwing the pleasure of dropping by his warehouses to foil his scheme.
Admittedly, the Penguin cosplayer above does not exactly imitate the Penguin from within Batman: Arkham Knight. While that Penguin was depicted more averagely, the cosplayer above goes above and beyond, remembering to add all the necessary flair that a true Gotham villain should display, including a black top hat, the iconic umbrella, an expertly secured monocle, and a professional make-up job.
Poison Ivy
According to the Arkham City Wikia, “Botanist Pamela Isley was transformed into a plant-human hybrid by a science experiment gone wrong. With chlorophyll flowing through her veins instead of blood, she developed a toxic touch and a pheromone-fueled talent for seduction.” Aware of her character, this cosplayer strikes a seductive pose along with an equally invitingly gaze that almost seems to say, “come to me.”
But be careful, this seductress is not to be taken lightly. She will lure you in and spread toxic plant-based poisons through your veins. While Poison Ivy is depicted as wearing a red shirt in Batman: Arkham Knight, this cosplayer stays true to Ivy’s nature and clothes herself in the leaves of the plants she commands.
Red Hood
Star of the Batman: Arkham Knight Red Hood DLC is none other than the man himself: the Red Hood. This vigilante falls somewhere on the line between good and evil. While he is undoubtedly infused with a sense of justice, his willingness and ease to murder indicate that his sense of ethics are absolutely below that of Batman’s (assuming you believe that Batman does not kill despite how fast he rams thugs with the Batmobile).
Above, this cosplayer’s outfit does not exactly match the Red Hood from Batman: Arkham Knight in two key ways. His chest armor has a black background instead of a whitish gray one and his mask has eye wholes whereas the in-game mask does not. But there’s no denying that this is nonetheless a flawless Red Hood cosplay as he brandishes the two signature guns with attitude.
