Bloodborne Will Have a New Game Plus Mode

Time to die all over again, and again, and again, and again.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The genetic bloodline of Bloodborne is one that incorporates the Souls series which began with the PlayStation 3 exclusive Demon’s Souls. Of course Dark Souls and its sequel happened but Demon’s Souls was the seed from which a whole new franchise grew. One of the game’s most important features to long time players was it’s new game plus option, one that Bloodborne will have.

Of course if anyone’s actually surprised by this then frankly, we’re a little shocked. The Souls pipeline has always found great important in its ability to offer players more to play even after they finish their first run through the game.

In an interview with MCV, the game’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki is quoted as saying “yes, there will be a New Game Plus mode,” followed by the admission that From Software are “having trouble beating it, though.”

He didn’t go into specifics on how the New Game Plus will be started by the player. With masses of extra content in places like the Chalice Dungeons and just the nature of the game, it’s likely that players will need to manually do something to get the New Game Plus of Bloodborne rolling.

Bloodborne is due to be released March 24 in North America, with Europe following on March 25, Japan sees it release March 26, and for some reason the UK has to wait until March 27.
