Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – June 18, 2019
Kicking off our list of the best upcoming Xbox One game releases for June 2019 is a Kickstarter darling.
It’s been a long time coming but the spiritual successor to the classic Castlevania games by Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, is finally coming out this June.
There have been a few appetizers to this main course that Symphony of the Night fans have been able to snack on like the spin-off Curse of the Moon, but Ritual of the Night is the big one that backers have been waiting for.
Bloodstained aims to be everything that Metroidvania fans have been wanting to see and then some.
Expect at the very least classic gameplay with a sleek visual style that’s retro-looking but with all the modern trimmings to make it look sharp.
Hope that not only does it end up being a worthy spiritual successor, it’s also an evolution of the genre spearheaded by the man who helped make it popular to begin with.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled – June 21, 2019
Speaking of classic games with modern trimmings, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled drops this June and the original Mario Kart “killer” finally gets another chance to steal the kart-racing spotlight away.
Just like the N-Sane Trilogy before it, Activision and developer Beenox are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the game looks like it is something that could be a brand new 2019 game.
It looks and runs great, and will feature new perks such as online play, new cutscenes, characters, maps, and more.
We’re anticipating Nitro-Fueled to be a must buy for anyone that remembers the original fondly, or just loves kart-racing games. There’s not a ton of great ones on Xbox One, so this should scratch the itch perfectly.
The Sinking City – June 27, 2019
If you’re looking for a little something off the beaten path… perhaps a bit more mysterious than the usual fare that releases, then perhaps The Sinking City should be on your radar.
The Sinking City is a detective game created by the experienced team behind the Sherlock Holmes games. This time, they are taking a stab at creating their own world which is inspired by Lovecraftian horror themes.
The story of The Sinking City takes place in the 1920s in Massachusetts where people are receiving mysterious visions accompanied by unprecedented flooding.
Success in the game is dependent on how observant you are. Exploration and discovery is open-ended and if you want to achieve the best possible results, you’ll have to earn them with your superior detective skills.
The Sinking City won’t be giving away gold stars to anyone.
Those are our picks for the best Xbox One games releasing in June 2019. What are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below.
