We’ve just started a new season of Fortnite, ushering in a dark and creepy age to the usually bright and cheerful map. The cube is now suspending an island in the air, Shadow Stones can transform people into near-invisible entities, and there’s even a haunted castle. As is always the case with Fortnite, each and every week, players get a bunch of weekly challenges to earn Battle Stars to level up their Battle Pass. It’s all part of the grind to get those sweet cosmetics. So we thought we’d give Epic Games a helping hand by highlighting a number of Fortnite Season 6 challenges we’re no doubt going to get this season.
Fortnite Season 6 Challenges We’re Bound to Get This Season
Use the Grappler
Alright, alright, the grappler may have released in Fortnite Season 5, but we’ve still yet to see a challenge based around people using it in some way or another. The grappler is a pretty handy tool to have in your Fortnite inventory, allowing you to quickly zip your way up enemy structures, buildings on the map, or just cover ground fast when you’re trying to escape from the storm.
With the recent vaulting of the Bounce Pad (RIP, sweet prince), it makes sense for Epic Games to push the grapple gun as the best traversal tool in the game. Especially considering without the bounce pad, there’s not really another way to quickly scale enemy structures in a fight. Though it’s been in the game for a while now, it’d be a neat way all the same to familiarize newcomers and less experienced players with the tool.
Exactly what form a grappler challenge would take in Fortnite Season 6, we’re not entirely sure. Perhaps picking one up in a specific number of different matches. Or maybe something requiring players to travel a set amount of distance while using it.
This is one of those kinds of Fortnite Season 6 challenges that’d be perfect for just five Battle Stars. The kind that are pretty simple as long as the RNG gods are smiling down on you when you’re opening chests. Plus, using the grapple gun is pretty damn fun anyway, so it’s a win-win for everyone.
Eliminate Enemies in Shadow Form
Fortnite Season 6 officially ushered in a new, dark age for the map. All of those glowing spots that the cube had left at the beginning of last season have now been transformed into Corrupted Areas. Three chests conveniently lie at the center of each one, but it’s the Shadow Stones that players can find here that are prime for Season 6 challenges material.
If the datamined week 2 challenges are, in fact, true, we’ll already have to visit these Corrupted Areas and consume Shadow Stones. But if Epic changed it around in a future set of weekly challenges, we could have one of the trickiest and more exciting challenges of recent seasons to complete.
As soon as you consume one of these Shadow Stones, players become invisible when stationary, and are essentially a blur when moving. They can’t use weapons, but they can move faster, jump higher, and take less fall damage. This has led to many players using Shadow Stones as an ambush tool, creeping up on unsuspecting players before shotgunning them in the back.
So it makes perfect sense to make one of the Fortnite Season 6 challenges one to eliminate a specific number of enemies in Shadow Form. It’d be difficult, sure, but it’d more than likely really mix up the way games play out. If eliminations are a little too tricky, it could always be a ‘Deal Damage to Shadow Form Enemies.’ Either way, we need to get shooting those shadowy opponents already… and be rewarded for it with sweet, sweet Battle Stars.

Skydiving and Gliding in the Vortex
The biggest change to the map in Fortnite Season 6 was the cube literally tearing Loot Lake island right out of the earth… and water. Suspended in mid-air by the dark, mysterious powers of the cube, the island is now slowly moving its way above the map. To reach the island, you’ve gotta hop into the vortex and use your glider to make your way up. To get back down, it’s a case of skydiving against the current. It’s a hell of a lot of fun, and makes for intense battles with teams using the vortex to catch unsuspecting enemies on the island off-guard.
It got us thinking, though. With the ability to essentially skydive and glide to your heart’s content in Fortnite Season 6, wouldn’t it be neat to get a trick system similar to what we’ve seen with the ATK‘s and shopping carts? Holding down the aim button (L2 or LT) while skydiving could switch you intro trick mode, allowing you to somersault, backflip, and corkscrew your way through the air.
Now you’ve got a neat idea for one of the future Fortnite Season 6 challenges. Earn 500,000 trick points while skydiving, and the Battle Stars are all yours.
Alternatively, should a skydiving trick system be too complicated to implement, the challenge could simply task players with skydiving in the vortex in different matches. Either way, this feels like one of those nice and easy weekly challenges to net you five Battle Stars.
Visit the Three Pigs Houses
One of the more minor additions to the Fortnite Season 6 map are the three 1×1 shacks each constructed of one of the three different materials in the game. The wooden one, found out to the east of Paradise Palms contains one chest, the brick one in the southwest of the map has two, and the metal one right at the north of the map has three. Are these a jovial reference to The Three Pigs? It’d make sense with the likes of Red Riding Hood and the Dire (werewolf) skin having a fairy tale feel about them.
With the three shacks being scattered across the edges of the map, it’s unlikely that the majority of players even know of their existence. Plus, it harks back to the challenge that tasked us with visiting the llama, crab, and fox all those seasons ago. We’d be very surprised if this doesn’t show up at some point in Fortnite’s Season 6 challenges.

Eliminate Enemies in the Corn Fields
While Season 6 might not have brought multiple major changes to the map, its minor alterations are still interesting enough to help keep things fresh. The new shack in Wailing Woods, the underground base in the maze, the new castle on the hill. It’s all cool, but it’s the Corn Fields that have the most potential for hilarious gameplay clips.
If you’ve yet to venture to the Corn Fields in Fatal Fields, let us explain. You head in, and you’re only able to see within the 1×1 section of the map you’re currently in. The corn essentially impairs your vision entirely, making it a great spot for hiding, but also for ambushing players, too. Seriously, if you haven’t checked them out, go do so already.
With this being a fairly minor and, arguably, missable change to the map if you’re not paying too close attention, it only seems right that Epic Games shines the spotlight on it.
We’re calling it now ‘Eliminate X enemies in the Corn Fields’ has got to come up as one of the Fortnite Season 6 challenges. Perhaps around Halloween, for when things will no doubt get especially spooky on Fortnite’s map.
Place Chiller Traps or Chiller Trap Eliminations
And as a surprise, last-minute addition, we couldn’t help but give some love to the latest addition to Fortnite’s arsenal of traps. The Chiller has literally just landed in the game today, and can be placed on structures to send opponents skidding away. Less useful in skirmishes on the ground, hilariously satisfying high up as your opponent plummets to their death as they skid off a well-placed Chiller.
There’s an easy option, and a hard option when it comes to a Chiller-based challenge in Season 6. Back in Season 5, we were tasked with placing seven of the normal traps. Simple enough, as long as you could get your hands on them. That’s worth five Battle Stars at the most, for sure.
Alternatively, there’s the harder variant, tasking players with actually claiming an elimination in Fortnite via a Chiller. The increased difficulty curve for getting an elimination comes largely from the fact that the Chiller is only really going to be able to deal fall damage. With building battles largely being relegated to the more experienced and high-skill players, it may make for a fairly unattainable challenge for a large portion of the game’s playerbase. A challenge worth of 10 Battle Stars. It’d certainly flood YouTube with some hilarious eliminations, though.
