Fortnite Season 6 has finally arrived, following all the cube based teases of the last couple of weeks. It has seen the addition of some new areas on the map and a new Battle Pass. However, you may be interested in some of the new items that have been added to the game to change up the gameplay. One of the new items is Shadow Stones. If you’re planning on heading out to find them, here is everything you need to know about how to get Shadow Stones in Fortnite and what they do.

They are a consumable in the game and you usually get Shadow Stones in Fortnite by looking around corrupted areas of the map. Interacting with one will apply a ‘Shadow Form’ to your character for a brief period.

What Shadow Stones Do in Fortnite

While in Shadow Form, you’ll be unable to use weapons. However, you’ll also be invisible while you’re stationary. While moving, however, you’ll be more visible and you’ll leave a Shadow Trail. Therefore, knowing how to get Shadow Stones in Fortnite is important because it can give you the upper hand in stealth situations.

After you get Shadow Stones in Fortnite, you’ll also gain increased movement speed, jump height and fall damage immunity. In addition, you’ll also gain a new ability that is activated by pressing the Primary Fire Button. The ability is called Phase and it propels you in the direction you are facing. Also, while being propelled forward, you can pass through objects.

The effect of Shadow Stones lasts for 45 seconds, but it can be exited early. All you have to do is hold down the aim down sights button.
