Starting today on the PlayStation Store, you can save up to 70% on some awesome action and superhero-related games for the PS4 thanks to a Villains Takeover sale happening right now.
There are a ton of titles on sale at the moment and if you are wondering which games to pick up during the sale, then check out our list on the best games that you should definitely purchase before the Villains Takeover sale is over, which ends on May 7 at 8 a.m. PT.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar doesn’t release open world games every year or two like other developers, but boy when they do put out a flagship title with that Rockstar charm and polish, it tends to be a heavy hitter in terms of sales and reception.
The open world western third-person shooter, Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently the highest rated game on PS4 right now, according to its Metacritic score of 97.
This unique, thrilling, and narrative-heavy cowboy adventure marks yet another masterpiece thanks to the game’s storytelling, visual achievements, astounding soundtrack, and technical prowess. There’s no better time to jump in, as you can purchase Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PlayStation Store right now for only $46.
Far Cry New Dawn
The ending of Far Cry 5 involved a nuke randomly dropping down on the earth, killing almost any and every living thing except Joseph Seed and the Deputy. New Dawn takes place years after the events of 5 and introduces us to a new character who works towards rebuilding Hope County back to the way it was.
In Twinfinite’s review of Far Cry New Dawn, we spoke on the fact that New Dawn just isn’t as fleshed out as Far Cry 5 but we still enjoyed our time finding out more about the cult leader that is Joseph Seed.
If you’re just looking for more Far Cry, then New Dawn is a solid experience that will give you exactly what you expect from a Far Cry game. Right now, you can pick this one up for only $24.
Watch Dogs 2
The first Watch Dogs game was supposed to be this amazing new intellectual property for Ubisoft that showcased the power of the next-gen consoles. Unfortunately, it ended up being somewhat mediocre with an uninteresting protagonist and an even more boring gameplay loop.
Ubisoft took the complaints and ended up developing a sequel that would serve as an impressive follow-up with more things to do, a more interesting protagonist, and a setting that would put players in the San Francisco Bay Area, which was way more fun to explore than Watch Dogs’s interpretation of the Windy City of Chicago.
If you’re looking for a colorful, vibrant, and open world action-adventure set in one of the best cities in America, Watch Dogs 2 is where it’s at. You can download it from the PlayStation Store right now for only $15.
Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil 7 released back in 2017 to critical acclaim and left players feeling terrified and claustrophobic. Taking a departure from the action-packed entries like Resident Evil 5 and 6, Resident 7 goes back to the series’ roots and throws players in a first-person survival horror experience that might make you cry.
Stripping down to a true horror experience that Resident Evil was known for, this is one game that should not be missed if you’re a fan of the classic PlayStation titles or just looking to shoot some mutated creatures while escaping the clutches of a deranged family.
Resident Evil 7 can be purchased from the PlayStation Store right now for only $18.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
If you haven’t heard, Gearbox will be releasing the highly teased Borderlands 3 later this year and the loot shooter is planning on giving fans what they’ve wanted for the past five years or so and that’s more Borderlands.
Since the third game is coming out, there’s no better time to see what all of the hubbub is about and check out the definitive versions of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on PS4. If you head on over to the PlayStation Store, the Borderlands: Handsome Collection can be yours for a low price of $21, which is only like $10 for each game –you can’t go wrong with that deal.
Those are our best picks to purchase during the Villains Takeover sale on the PSN Store! Will you guys be picking up any of these games later in the week? Let us know which ones you’re gonna keep an eye out for and remember, the sale ends on May 7.
