It’s the middle of October which means that Halloween is right around the corner. To celebrate the spooky season of trick-or-treating, ghosts, and pumpkins, the Epic Games Store is holding a Halloween Sale with discounts of up to 65% off.
Check out the list below to see the best games in the Halloween sale that you should totally buy. Keep in mind that this sale will come to an end on Nov. 1 at 11 am ET.
Control
Original Price: $59.99
Sale Price: $44.99 (25% off)
Jesse Faden stars in Remedy’s newest supernatural third-person shooter, Control. When Control launched back in August, we found the game to be pretty good, with our reviewer, Ed, praising the game’s combat and its high replay value.
If you like an interesting story with odd characters, lots of lore to be found, and combat with trippy sci-fi powers, Control might be the game for you.
The game is 25% off right now on the Epic Games Store and if your PC has high specs, Control will look oh so good.
Heavy Rain
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $15.99 (20% off)
Heavy Rain from Quantic Dream is a narrative-driven adventure game where you play as several different characters, making choices and interactive decisions that determine the fate of the cast and it also changes which of the multiple endings you’ll see.
It’s a riveting and deep narrative that tugs at the heartstrings and forces the player to make choices that they really don’t want to have to make.
We’re not going to spoil anything but there’s a big twist towards the end that is very surprising and ultimately unforgettable.
Also, Beyond: Two Souls is on sale as well, so if you like Heavy Rain, you can try that title too.
Alan Wake
Original Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $4.04 (73% off)
Alan Wake is another atmospheric third-person action game from Remedy that released back in 2012. It’s been quite some time since it came out but it’s still one of the tensest and most exhilarating games that released last generation.
The story that Remedy has put together for this game is full of cliffhangers and genuinely shocking twists that makes it feel as if you’re playing through episodes of a T.V. show like Twin Peaks.
The unique combat with Alan’s flashlight is exceptionally diverse, making this title a must-play.
Inside/Limbo
Original Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $6.99 (65% off)
Developer Playdead excels at delivering atmospheric and creepy 2D platformers that tell a fantastic narrative that is up to the player to determine what it all actually means.
Limbo and Inside are regarded as some of the best indies of all time and are definitely worth playing today if you missed them back when they launched.
Limbo is $3 right now and Inside is $7. It literally only costs about $10 to play some of the best indies ever. Pretty sweet deal indeed.
These are two games that may not be scary or spooky enough to call horror games, but they are good choices to buy during the Epic Games Store Halloween sale.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series
Original Price: $49.99
Sale Price: $34.99 (30% off)
Ol’ Telltale might be out of business now but you can still check out their most popular episodic adventure series, The Walking Dead.
This definitive edition of the choose-your-own-adventure series contains all four seasons of the game as well as the two bonus mini-seasons that were released in between in the main seasons.
You can experience the series from the beginning with Lee and then work your way to the end with Clementine and for only $35 or so, it’s worth every penny.
And those are our picks for best games to buy during the Epic Games Store Halloween sale. To check out the full list of titles on sale, you can see it right here.
