Who’s the Killer of Ben Glenroy in Only Murders in the Building?

The truth is: we don’t know. As the mystery of who murdered Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell) is resolved during Season 2, Ben’s death is next on the list. Season 3 has been confirmed and it will most certainly be focused on solving the case of his death. While we don’t know who killed him, we have a list of suspects for you to consider.

What We Know So Far About Who Might Have Done It

Oliver

The debut of Ben Glenroy makes it clear that he is not the most likeable person. For instance, as Ben is starring in Oliver’s (Martin Short) Broadway show we see him complaining to Oliver about Charles (Steve Martin), his co-star. While we didn’t get to see much, it appears Oliver might have been on Charles’ side. Does it seem a bit extreme? Yes.

Charles

They obviously didn’t get along and before the show begins, they even get into a fight. However, it would be out of character and Charles indeed seems surprised by the death of Ben. It could all be an act though.

Mabel

As Ben and Charles fought, Charles told Ben to “stay away from her”, making it clear that their disagreement was about a woman. While Mabel (Selena Gomez) could be a potential suspect, we don’t think ruining her friends’ show would be her way to act.

Will

Oliver’s son, Will (Ryan Broussard), might want to climb his father’s ladder and leave children’s productions to be taken seriously on Broadway. Is this a motive to jump to such extremes?

Joy

We haven’t seen much of Joy (Andrea Martin). We do know that in the flash-forwards she is in a committed relationship with Charles. Therefore, as she is still a stranger, she is definitely suspicious.

Howard

Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) dreams of becoming the leading man in a musical. Could his dream plus the fact that Ben was not that nice be the perfect combination for murder?

Jan

Amy Ryan as Jan in Only Murders in the Building

While Jan (Amy Ryan) wasn’t really a major player in Season 2, we know that she is obsessed with Charles. In fact, during the season she made sure we were reminded of that. Knowing that Ben was fighting with Charles could’ve been enough for her to get involved in the drama.

This is what we know so far about who killed Ben Glenroy in Only Murders in the Building. These are all wild guesses taken from the little information we got. For all we know, the killer might not have appeared on screen yet. Before you go, check out the other news and information we have about Hulu’s shows, including The Bear and the Futurama revival.
