While Tom Clancy fans have been gleefully eliminating terrorists and guerrilla insurgents for many years now, Ubisoft‘s Rainbow Six Extraction puts a bunch of otherworldly extraterrestrials – known as the Archaeans – between our collective crosshairs for the first time in the series. But what if you run out of ammo and need to go toe-to-toe with the pesky critters? In this guide, we’ll explain how to melee in Rainbow Six Extraction. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
How to Melee in Rainbow Six Extraction
To melee in Rainbow Six Extraction, you’ll need to press the R3 button. In other words, clicking in the right stick on your controller will trigger a melee attack, which’ll come in handy when you’re super close to an enemy, or when you run out of ammo.
Your melee attack can also be used as a stealth takedown option, if you can creep up behind (or up close) to an enemy without being detected. Make sure you’re crouching with B/ Circle/ Ctrl, and then get close to the enemy.
You should then see a prompt appear on-screen to perform a takedown. Do this, and you’ll silently use your REACT knife to slice through the enemy.
Of course, we’d only suggest using the standard melee in a pinch as you’re more likely to take a hit when you get up close and personal. That said, if you run out of ammo and need to defend yourself, using the melee is a solid choice to get you out of a precarious situation.
