So you’ve wrapped up the main story of Far Cry 6 and you’re looking for things to do after beating it. Well, you’re in the right place as this guide will give you eight ideas to keep you roaming around Yara for many, many more hours to come.
We’ve also kickstarted this list with a recommendation for something you should do before finishing the main story altogether, primarily because it relates to an achievement/ trophy that cannot be unlocked after doing so.
Sail Off Into the Sunset
Before you go ahead and complete the main story of Far Cry 6, hop on a boat and start making your way to any of the outskirts of the map. Why? Because this unlocks the ‘Hiding in Plain Sight’ trophy and achievement, which cannot be unlocked after you’ve beaten the main story.
That’s because you’re essentially unlocking the secret, super short ending in Far Cry 6 that the series is renowned for at this point. You’ll essentially leave all the troubles of Yara behind you and go and chill in Miami.
Complete Insurgency Missions
Things to Do After Beating Far Cry 6
The main post-game content in Far Cry 6 comes in the form of its Insurgency missions, which sees you quelling the resurgence of Castillo’s military forces wherever they pop up across the map. You’ll need to reclaim checkpoints, clear out FND bases and defeat an Insurgent Leader in order to complete all the objectives each week.
The Insurgency content refreshes each week, so you’ll have plenty to keep you coming back to Far Cry 6 among the other suggestions for things to do after beating the main story on this list. It also nets you some cool weapons, XP and gear as your rewards, so we’d highly recommend checking it out.
Hunt Down All Mythical Animals
Things to Do After Beating Far Cry 6
While there’s a ton of wildlife living throughout Yara, some are more formidable than others. These are the Mythical Animals in Far Cry 6 in which there are five.
You’ll need to traverse across the entire map to take down Mamutito the Hog, the Black and White Demoníaco wolves, Venodiente the Crocodile and Sanguinario the Jaguar.
Not only do you need to track them all down for a trophy/ achievement, they also provide a fun little challenge. Get your hunting bow at the ready and be prepared for a battle.
Unlock All Supremos
Juan Cortez is a crazy mother trucker, and he’s got a bunch of those Supremo backpacks ready and waiting for you to purchase. In order to get them all, you’ll need to gather as much Depleted Uranium as you possibly can from around the map.
These are an absolute blast to experiment with in intense combat situations, and you’ll need to purchase them all to earn the ‘Backpacking’ trophy and achievement in Far Cry 6.
Find All of the Roosters
Things to Do After Beating Far Cry 6
One of the more bizarre things you can do outside of Far Cry 6’s story is the full Street Fighter/ Tekken-style Rooster Fighting mini-game at the Guerrilla Base Camp in Madrugada. You’ll have one Rooster to use initially, but there are a ton of others you’ll have to track down across Yara if you want to get the ‘Recrooster’ trophy/ achievement.
Not only that, but having a full set of Roosters is just a cool thing to show off, and checking them out in action is a bit of a hoot.
Complete All of Yami’s Gran Premio Races
If you’re looking to really put your driving skills to the test, then you’ll want to visit Yami’s various Gran Premio races around Yara. Not only do these unlock additional upgrades for your vehicles, but they also provide you with a nice change of pace from the core combat gameplay that permeates into most other areas of the game.
You’ll also need to complete three of these for the ‘Speed Racer’ trophy/ achievement, and a bunch more of them in order to unlock some of the different part slots required to earn the ‘Furiously Fast’ trophy, too.
If you’re looking for a change of pace — and by that, we mean a significant up-tick — then checking out the Gran Premio races are a great way to spend a little more time in Yara without doing the same ol’ stuff.
Complete All Treasure Hunts
Things to Do After Beating Far Cry 6
Some of the most enjoyable bits of side content you can do are the various Treasure Hunts around Yara. These task you with finding different items, often by navigating tricky platforming sections or following clues.
Fancy a jaunt around a haunted house? There’s a Treasure Hunt for that. An ode to Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull? Yep, you guessed it, Treasure Hunt.
These are all marked on your map with a pink diamond whenever you stumble upon one, and we’d highly recommend checking as many of these out as you can. They also unlock some neat gear more often than not, which we’re not going to turn our nose up at.
In particular, if you haven’t already completed it, do the ‘Triada Blessings’ side mission. It may actually fall under the ‘Yaran Stories’ category of side content, but it will have you seeking some of the Triada Relics scattered across Yara. You’ll get the Stealth-based Supremo backpack and a weapon that can shoot through walls for your troubles, too!
Clear All Remaining FND Bases & Checkpoints
A nice and easy one for you to pick off, and one for anyone who’s still got an itch for some of the combat-based gameplay that needs scratching is to clear out the various FND Bases and Checkpoints that you may have missed before finishing the main story.
You can also throw in any anti-aircraft guns you didn’t get to, as you’ll need to visit these to obtain that Depleted Uranium for any remaining Supremo weapons you’ve not yet purchased from Juan’s Arms Dealers.
Mop Up Any Remaining Trophies & Achievements
Things to Do After Beating Far Cry 6
By completing the activities we’ve listed here, you’ll most likely be very close to getting the platinum trophy or all 1000 Gamerscore for Far Cry 6, but depending on how you play, you may only have a few left to grab.
Go play and win a game of Dominoes at El Este’s Patriotas Peak base camp for the ‘Beginner’s Luck’ trophy, complete a Special Operation with a friend in online co-op for the ‘Overheated’ trophy, and take down an unsuspecting enemy with a vehicle machete kill from a horse for the ‘Road Rage’ trophy.
There’s also a ton of different collectibles like USB Sticks, Criptograma Chests, and 49 Unique Weapons to collect across the world, so there’s plenty of reason to explore every nook and cranny of Yara.
