Double Fine Productions have only just announced that its upcoming platformer, Psychonauts 2 has gone gold ahead of its release on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms later this month. It also announced that the game is now available to preload, and that means if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, or you’ve preordered the game, you can install the full Psychonauts 2 file size to your hard drive ahead of its August 25 release.
Psychonauts 2 Download Size
Cutting right to the chase, we’ve listed the install size of Psychonauts 2 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC below:
- Xbox: 28.50 GB
- PC: 29.68 GB
- PlayStation: TBC
It’s worth noting that while we have been able to confirm that the Xbox install size weighs in at 28.50 GB, this was on a Series X. The PC file size comes from the Xbox app, shown in the screenshot below.
The install size of the game on the original Xbox One and PS4, or the less powerful Series S may be slightly smaller due to lower resolution graphics assets being downloaded, instead of the full 4K ones used by Microsoft’s flagship consoles.
The file sizes also may still change between now and launch, with the game currently only available for preload on both PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
If there are bugs and final features that need to be tweaked or adjusted, this may make the file size bigger, or indeed smaller come release date, but we’d be very surprised if it changed drastically from those install sizes listed above.
