How Long Does it Take to Beat Yakuza Like a Dragon? Answered

The amount of time you’ll need to sink into Yakuza Like a Dragon to beat it depends on how much of the game you’d like to play through.

If you only want to play through the main story and don’t mind skipping all of the side content, you’re looking at roughly 45 hours of playtime. This includes a few detours that you’ll need to make to grind for experience, make money to progress certain parts of the story and otherwise get your bearings on where to go when the game doesn’t expressly guide you.

However, if you’d rather get a taste for everything else going on in the game, then your playtime will be much longer. Completing a decent portion of Yakuza Like a Dragon’s Substories, and trying out its many minigames, can eat up quite a bit of time, pushing your total time investment to about 60 hours.

This is pretty standard for a Yakuza title though, and is the recommended choice. Yakuza is well known for its wacky side content, and you’ll want to experience it for a better view of everything the game has to offer.

Completionists and 100%ing

Then, there’s the completionist’s route for Yakuza Like a Dragon, and it’s a serious time sink. If you want to do literally everything – including track down every enemy type, collect every collectible and defeat every possible dungeon – then you’re looking at well over 100 hours of playtime.

This can be a real challenge, and it’s far from unlikely that you won’t experience some burnout with the game before all’s said and done. Only attempt this route if you’re a diehard fan of the Yakuza series.
