It’s that spooky time of the year once again, and PlayStation is celebrating by hosting a PSN Halloween sale with loads of discounts on titles that fall into the horror category.
We’ve taken a look at the list of games on sale and have rounded out the best of the best that you should totally buy right now to get ready for Halloween. But make sure to hurry because this sale comes to an end on Nov. 2.
Death Stranding
PSN Halloween Sale
Original Price: $40 – Sale Price: $30
Most people wouldn’t call Death Stranding a “horror” game but there are definitely some horror elements surrounding Hideo Kojima’s cinematic and through-provoking action-adventure title.
Carrying around a crying baby and attempting to quietly stealth your way around the Beached Things (BTs) in Death Stranding can be a horrifying experience. Sure, there are ways to counter-attack enemies that you come across, but the game pushes you to avoid confrontation whenever possible, creating tense and stressful situations.
Death Stranding may have been divisive, but it’s a wonderfully realized video game that tells a poignant story with a star-studded cast of actors.
If you’re looking for a half-relaxing half-frightening title to play around Halloween this year, Death Stranding has all of it for you.
Days Gone
PSN Halloween Sale
Original Price: $40 – Sale Price: $20
OK, so Days Gone isn’t the most impressive first-party PlayStation exclusive out there but here me out. Once you get past the initial hurdle, Days Gone really does open up and allows you to blast through hordes upon hordes of zombies.
If you go into this with lower expectations, you can find yourself having a hell of a good time, especially if you play on Halloween or something. And at $20 during this PSN Halloween sale, it’s a low risk investment.

Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake
PSN Halloween Sale
Original Price: $80 – Sale Price: $40
Capcom outdid themselves with the Resident Evil 2 Remake but no so much with Resident Evil 3. Still, during this Halloween sale on PSN, you can grab a collection that includes both games for only $40 right now, which is an absolute steal.
Resident Evil 2 Remake took everything that made the PS1 classic incredible and gave it a much-needed modern makeover while keeping the horror elements we all loved.
Thanks to the two playable characters, too, the game has lots of replayability and contains lots of hours of content for you to sink your teeth into. Resident Evil 3, on the other hand, while compelling and enjoyable, wasn’t as terrifying and ran on the short side when it comes to playtime hours, but still, it’s not a bad remake by any means.
Any game in the Resident Evil series will certainly deliver on the spooks though no matter what you play, except Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City –don’t play that.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
PSN Halloween Sale
Original Price: $30 – Sale Price: $20
Man of Medan is the first entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology that comes from developer Supermassive Games, the same team that brought Until Dawn into the world.
While Until Dawn was a campy horror game about young 20-somethings trapped in a snowy mountain lodge, Man of Medan tells a slightly different tale.
Six adults end up getting kidnapped during a diving trip in the middle of the ocean and then get taken to a haunted ship that’s full of secrets.
The story here is definitely not as compelling as Until Dawn’s. Still, it is a fine start to this new anthology series, allowing players to choose these characters’ fate by making drastic decisions without much time to think.
You can even play with some friends, making this a perfect game to check out on Halloween. Bust out some hot chocolate, snuggle under some blankets, turn down the lights, and get ready for some spooks.
Little Nightmares
PSN Halloween Sale
Original Price: $20 – Sale Price: $5
Little Nightmares is a dark and spooky 2D indie platformer that is reminiscent of titles such as Limbo or Inside. You play as this odd little character with a yellow raincoat trying to escape from an unsettling dollhouse of sorts called The Maw.
You’ll solve environmental puzzles all by yourself, and the entire vibe of the game reminds me of being a small child, scared of what lurks within the dark corners of my bedroom.
For just $5, you really can’t go wrong here. Plus, there’s an even spookier sequel coming out soon, so jump in now while the price is on the lower side.
And those are our picks for the best games to buy during the PSN Halloween sale. Let us know down in the comments what you plan on picking up during this spooky promotion!
