In FIFA 19, EA introduced a brand new shooting mechanic that focused on precise and powerful shots, and it returns once again for FIFA 22. Called Timed Finishing, it allows you to take a risk to try and get a better chance of scoring a goal. While timed finishing is a cool mechanic, what if you didn’t want to have to worry about it? Here is everything you need to know about how to turn off timed finishing in FIFA 22.
First things first, it’s important to know exactly what Timed Finishing actually is. By pressing the shoot button twice, it allows you to get more power and accuracy from your shots.
It can be combined with any kind of shot, whether that be a chip, finesse, or standard one, but you only have a short window to get it right and pull off a green timed finesse shot. If you’re used to spamming the shoot button to ensure you get your foot on the ball, you’re going to want to turn the option off. Thankfully, you can.
How to Turn Off Timed Finishing in FIFA 22
What you need to do is open up the main menu in FIFA 22, where you’d see all the modes. From here, go to the Customize tab, where all settings are kept.
Once inside, select settings and then customize controls. Here, you’ll see an option that says Timed Finishing. Scroll down to it and change the option to Off. Below is a screenshot of the menu page you’re looking for.
Now you can head into any game, in any mode, and not have to worry about trying to score using Timed Finishing. Instead, you can shoot however you’d like, without the downside of missing the timing getting in the way.
