There are a plethora of secret areas for you to uncover in Spelunky 2, but some are more difficult than others to find your way into. How to Find the Vampire Castle in Spelunky 2
To reach the Vampire Castle in Spelunky 2, you’ll need to first make your way through the Volcana area and activate the Drill found there.
Volcana is the Zone which you access by heading right after clearing level 1-4, and is filled with lava and flame traps. It has a giant Drill that appears from level 2-2 on which can only be activated by using the Udjat Eye on a nearby panel, and opens up a path to a secret area entrance that is normally inaccessible. Make your way to Volcana and then look for the Drill in the upper-middle section of the map. Look for the activation panel on one of its sides – denoted by an elevated purple block – and then interact with it by pressing R1. This will use the Udjat Eye to activate it, and open up a path downward which you can take by climbing a chain connected to the Drill’s base.
Climb down it, and then look to the sides of the Drill. You should find a red stone doorway, which will lead to the Vampire Castle.
As for what the Vampire Castle contains for you to find in Spelunky 2, there are more than a few treasures to be uncovered.
In addition to being able to snag the Cape item from any Vampires you kill, you can also swipe the Crown from the throne room. Having it in your inventory will allow you to get the Excalibur sword from the Tide Pool region, which will let you access other secret areas while also granting you a one-hit-kill weapon.
You can likewise kill the Castle’s ruler, Vlad, to obtain his special Cape which allows you to double-jump without the aid of a Mount. However, it’s worth noting that he can be difficult to defeat, so consider freeing some of the Hired Hands scattered throughout the level to soften him up before you fight him.
