Rogue Legacy 2 is finally out on PC via Early Access, and fans are diving into the experience with gusto. If you’re one of the fans who enjoyed the first game via Sony’s consoles though, you’re probably feeling a little left out and asking yourself the question: Is Rogue Legacy 2 coming to PlayStation 4?
Well, for better or worse, we’ve got the answers you’re looking for.
Is Rogue Legacy 2 Coming to PlayStation 4? Answered
As it stands, no, there are no confirmed plans to bring Rogue Legacy 2 to the PlayStation 4 at this time.
This might be a bit of a bummer to hear, but it makes sense from a logistical standpoint. The game has only just become stable enough to release an Early Access Build, and that’s with all of developer Cellar Door Games’ time and effort going into the PC version alone.
Developing another port of the game for another console would only increase the workload on Cellar Door and potentially drag down the quality of the end product as a result.
As such, it’s the safest move for the studio to focus their time and effort on making the best product they can for one platform before considering ports for consoles.
Will The Game Ever Come to PlayStation 4?
With that said though, chances are fairly high that Rogue Legacy 2 will find its way onto PS4 somewhere down the line.
After the first Rogue Legacy met widespread popularity and acclaim upon release, ports for almost every possible platform were developed in the following years. These, in turn, did fairly well and helped set the stage for the sequel’s eventual development.
With this in mind, it seems very plausible that Rogue Legacy 2 could see a PlayStation 4 port released sometime in the future, so long as it sees the same popularity and success as its forebear.
