Ooblets: Is There Multiplayer? Answered

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Ooblets has arrived, bringing this whimsically charming collect ’em all adventure to our screens. You’ll train your Ooblets up in the art of dance battles, tend to a farm to help grow Badgetown, and help the Mayor with all kinds of other business. Due to the game feeling like a hybrid of Pokemon, Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, some players may be wondering if Ooblets is multiplayer.

Is There Multiplayer in Ooblets?

Unfortunately, at this moment in time, Ooblets is not multiplayer. The game has only currently released in Early Access, meaning that there’s still plenty of work to be done before the game is finalized.

That being said, it is worth pointing out that over on the Ooblets official FAQ, the question of multiplayer doesn’t have the answer you’re likely hoping for.

“We think multiplayer would work really well for Ooblets, but implementing it would basically double the time to make the game, so we’re not planning on it. Maybe we can do it in a sequel!”

While this may be disappointing news for some, if the reception to Ooblets is overwhelmingly positive and fans are desperate for it, the development team might change their mind. That appears highly unlikely, but there’s certainly room for a change of plan in the FAQ answer provided.

If there are any changes to Ooblets’ multiplayer position, we’ll update this post and let you know. For now, it’s just a case of crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
