Crazy Taxi: City Rush Announced For…Mobile

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Today, Sega announced that Crazy Taxi is being rejuvenated in the form of a mobile game entitled, Crazy Taxi: City Rush. Creator of the original Crazy Taxi and Executive Producer of Crazy Taxi: City Rush, Kenji Kanno, is a long for the *ahem* ride. Kenji says, “I’m very excited to finally be able to share with you the first news of Crazy Taxi: City Rush,” and added, “We are delivering a truly fun game that captures everything our fans love about the original and infusing it with several new features to create an even more fantastic and memorable experience.” Some of those new features include a remixed control scheme for mobile devices. Players will swipe to change lanes, whip around corners through an all new city.

Sega also states that Crazy Taxi: City Rush will be released with a plethora of missions/challenges, and customization options for the player’s taxi. Unfortunately, Sega has chosen to use the free-to-play model with Crazy Taxi: City Rush, so I’m pretty sure putting Daytons on your taxi will cost you a buck.

Crazy Taxi: City Rush is going to be released globally later this year for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices. Oh yeah, if you wanna play plain ol’ Crazy Taxi that is currently available on the App Store for free celebrating the announcement of Crazy Taxi: City Rush.
