PlayStation Store Free Games for Week of Jan. 14 (DLC, Themes & More)

Every Tuesday, when the PlayStation Store updates, there is a selection of newly added free items for the PS4 that often go overlooked. To get the best bang for your buck (AKA free PSN stuff), let’s sift the free games, DLC, and Themes out from the paid, shall we?

Free PSN Games

Seeing as we aren’t all that far into the new month and year, it’s a wonderful time to grab this month’s PlayStation Plus games and give them a fair shake before next month rolls around and another two take over. Also up for this week, while is debatable whether a free-to-play game counts, it will might be flying a little under the radar. So if you are perhaps getting a little sick of Apex Legends, a change of scenery might be in order.

Free PSN DLC

It would seem we aren’t far enough into the new year and month enough for the good and meaty free items to start rolling in. There is a piece of free content for PES2019, but it’s the only other free thing for the week besides Darwin Project.

Free PSN Themes/Avatars

This isn’t quite store related, but there is a current event of sorts that will allow you to get your hands on a free avatar and theme. If you take part in PlayStation’s wrap-up by heading here (US/EU), you can look at your yearly stats for 2019 and depending how your stats shake out, you will be awarded one of seven avatars and a theme.
