Drakengard 3 Gets Europe/PAL Release Date, No Love for North America

Square Enix, publisher of Drakengard 3, has announced an official release date for the action-RPG title in European and other PAL countries. As for North America… well, the rest of us will just have to wait.

Drakengard 3 will be digitally released in Europe on May 21st, 2014. This will be the only format available in those countries; North America, conversely, will see a retail release.

Though it is the third game in the franchise so far (which included Nier as a spinoff title), Drakengard 3 will be a prequel to the original game. Set in a time of total war with an apparent connection to Nier, players will control Zero who is on a mission to murder her five sisters.

Gameplay continues the action tradition of the series, featuring battles controlling Zero herself and as she fights astride her dragon in aerial combat.
