How to Get Mime Jr in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Just as in previous Pokemon games, Mime Jr is a very rare spawn in Sword & Shield, made even more difficult to find this time around because it is only one you’ll encounter in a Max Raid Battle.

If you’re not familiar with Max Raid Battles, they are a new multiplayer feature introduced in Sword & Shield, which involves the new Dynamax mechanic.

You will notice Dynamax Pokemon locations by a red or purple beam of light coming from their dens in the Wild Area of the map. Purple is the rare tier that you are after.

Mime Jr has a chance of spawning in Den 13 (Bridge Field), Den 14 (Hammerlocke Hills, Motorstoke Riverbank, Stony Wilderness) or Den 34 (Lake of Outrage).

To take on a Max Raid Battle, you’ll need to team up with three other players (either online or locally) to take on a den. Computer-controlled NPC trainers will be added if you are unable to locate buddies online/locally.

You can also trigger max Raid Battles yourself using Wishing Piece items that you can purchase in the Wild Area.

You can read our detailed guide about how to join Max Raid Battles.

After successfully defeating a Dynamax Pokemon in a Max Raid Battle you will have the opportunity to capture it.

That is all the information we have about how to get Mime Jr in Pokemon Sword & Shield. If you’re looking for more tips on the game, check out our guide wiki.
